C.R.E.W.

We are all members of the same crew, not merely passengers.
C.R.E.W. stands for Character, Respect, Empathy, and Wisdom.  We will hold C.R.E.W. meetings twice a day.

Character
This page outlines the character education portion of my classroom curriculum called C.R.E.W.  This is a school-wide program.  I have chosen 9 of the 14 human values the C.R.E.W. program suggests- those I feel will benefit the students as they prepare for junior high.  One value will be discussed each month of school, September through May.  I have closely aligned these values with literature and informational text we will read in class.  More importantly, the learning activities associated with each value are based on the standards of the Common Core: English Language Arts, adopted by the Utah State Office of Education.  Not only will the learning activities be reading,  writing, and language based, but they will integrate with other parts of the sixth grade curriculum including Social Studies, Health, and P.E.  Please share any ideas you may have concerning these values and learning activities with me through email.

Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character, it becomes your DESTINY.
